And to the Yankees he goes…
Of all the teams in MLB, the Yankees have always held a place as the team I love to hate. Maybe it’s their constantly over-emphasised storied past or the fact that for years no one seemed to believe that baseball existed west of the Hudson. Well, now they’ve taken Roger Clemens. We knew it was coming; that doesn’t make it any less harder to take. As Lance Berkman put it, as soon as Andy Petite signed with the Yankees it was a foregone conclusion. But that doesn’t make it any less upsetting. A lot of the bloggers and newsguys are saying that Clemens viewed NY–w/ their less-than-stellar pitching staff–as the place he could make the most difference. Well, I will try not to think any less of him. He is one of the greatest pitchers to every play the game, but the fact that he will not be an Astro at the end is bitter…even more so because he will be a Yankee.
Lemonade out of lemons: At least this will mean that I saw Roger’s last home game as an Astro at last year’s home finale against the Cardinals.
