10 Newish Books I am Dying To Read

A long while ago, I used to do these types of lists on Amazon and some folks really liked them (or so I convinced myself). I have recently been inspired to do these again if for no other reason than to keep myself aware of what new books are coming out–something I absorbed easily when my job involved ordering books.

NON-FICTION

• The Life of the Skies: Birding at the End of Nature by Jonathan Rosen
• A History of Histories: Epics, Chronicles, Romances and Inquiries from Herodotus and Thucydides to the Twentieth Century by John Burrow
• The Thing About Life Is That One Day You’ll Be Dead by David Shields
• Major: A Black Athlete, a White Era, and the Fight to Be the World’s Fastest Human Being by Todd Balf
• Rock On: An Office Power Ballad by Dan Kennedy

FICTION

• The Learners by Chip Kidd
• The Rain Before if Falls by Jonathan Coe
• Our Story Begins: New and Selected Stories by Tobias Wolff

Now, the interesting thing is to check on GoodReads or facebook a few months from now and see if I actually get around to reading any of these.
